If it becomes necessary
to service a power
supply module, the Hot
Swapper allows the
removal of the power
supply without
interrupting the power
going to the system. The
output connector is a
standard Jones plug
which connects to the
switchable Interface
Connector inside the
cabinet where it will
continue to provide the
cable with voltage. The
Hot Swapper may also
be connected to a
temporary generator to
step the voltage down to
the cable voltage. Input
is 120 Volts, output is
60/90 Volts AC, 15A.

Connector
The Hot Swapper Interface Connector
allows the power supply installation to be
reduced to a plug-and-play procedure.
The power supply cable plugs into the
AC outlet of the power supply and the
"Magic" box interfaces with the RF
connector that leads to the power
inserter. The Hot Swapper Auxiliary
Power Supply may be connected to the
Jones plug to provide continuous power
to the cable system while servicing is
taking place. The unit mounts inside
UPS cabinet and may be specified when
cabinets are ordered.

Overview
These two products work in
conjunction with each

To prevent the power
going to the cable plant
from being interrupted, the
Auxiliary Power Supply
connects to the Jones Plug
located on the Interface
Connector.
By flipping the toggle
switch the cable will
continue to receive the
required voltage for
constant operation.
Status Monitoring
A second function the
Interface Connector serves
is to connect a Status
Monitor Modem RF output
to the cable system.
Status Monitoring may
be selected as an added
feature to the UPS.
